Your Jira Server instance must be accessible via DNS. Please ensure that you have assigned a public DNS record that is resolved to your instance, with an SSL certificate defined for the domain you configured.
Connect Your Application
Visit Connected Applications on the sidebar. Click on the Connect button for Jira Server.
Note: The defined timezone for Jira and Valven Atlas should be the same.
There is only one step to initiate the communication between Valven Atlas and your Jira Server;
After clicking the Connect button for Jira Server, please register your Jira URL, Email, and Access Token fields with;
- Your Jira URL
- The Email Address registered in your JIRA platform
- The Access Token you can take from your JIRA platform
Obtain Jira Server Access Token
There are a couple of steps to take the access token from the Jira Server and use it to complete the authentication with Jira;
Step 1: The access token can be generated from the Jira Server Profile Settings. Open your Jira Profile from the following link;
https://<YOUR_JIRA_SERVER>/secure/ViewProfile.jspa
Step 2: Click on the 'Create token' button and the next page will request some information to create the token. Create the token by setting the Token Name and deselecting the Automatic Expiry option.
Step 3: On the next page, you will see the generated access token. Take note of this token for any possible future use.
Verifying the Connection
After obtaining the access token and registering it with the URL and email information to connect Valven Atlas with the Jira Server, you should be redirected to the Valven Atlas Connected Apps screen.
Being redirected to the Valven Atlas Connected Apps screen with the 'Connected' label at the top, the project name, and the disconnect icon in your Jira Server section indicates that Valven Atlas integration to your Jira Server is completed successfully.
Your repositories in the JIRA can be associated with Valven Atlas to analyze the Issue Management data of your respective projects to provide extensive insights and highlight the areas to improve.
