In Valven Atlas, a developer is any person who is involved in software projects: writes code, reviews pull-requests and contributes issues.
Developers are automatically fetched from your Git and issue repositories and saved into Valven Atlas. We offer a comprehensive developer management feature that allows you to efficiently handle individuals involved in your software projects.
You can perform 2 main actions on developers:
- Merging Multiple Developer Records:
Merging developer records eliminates duplicates and ensures that all relevant information is consolidated, enhancing data accuracy and ease of management.
In Valven Atlas, merging developer records enables you to consolidate multiple entries associated with the same individual into a single unified entity. This helps streamline your developer management process and maintain accurate records. To merge developer records, follow these steps:- Click manage developers button on Developers page
- Identify the developer records you wish to merge by clicking on them. Ensure they represent the same person.
- Select the Merge Developers option on the top of developer list
- Follow the prompts to specify the primary record that will serve as the merged entity.
- Confirm your selection, and Valven Atlas will merge the developer records into a single cohesive entry.
- Enabling/Disabling Developers:
Valven Atlas provides the flexibility to enable or disable individual developers based on their involvement in software projects. This feature allows you to manage developer access and permissions effectively. To enable or disable developers, follow these steps:- Click manage developers button on Developers page
- If you will toggle status of a single developer, click three dots on the right-side of the row, and select "Mark as Passive / Active"
- If you will toggle status of multiple developers, identify the developer records you wish to enable/disable by clicking on them. Click "Mark as Passive / Active" at the top of the list
- Confirm your selection, and Valven Atlas will apply the changes accordingly.
Note: Both actions requires re-processing of your data to recalculate your reports. This may take up to 30 minutes depending on size of your data.
